The Season of Advent is a time of waiting, eager anticipation, and joyful reflection. In the middle of all the busyness, Advent invites us to slow down, prepare our hearts, and reflect on the incredible gift of Jesus’ birth. Let this Advent Reading Plan become a precious time where we lean into God’s promises, remember His faithfulness, and prepare to welcome Jesus with joy.

Just as the ancient Israelites waited for the Messiah, we too are people who wait- sometimes impatiently, sometimes with hope, sometimes with fear. Advent reminds us that when we center our waiting on God, it is always a productive time.
It’s an active waiting- a way of connecting with Him in prayer, worship, and reflection on the coming of our Savior.
As we look at the ancient prophecies and promises fulfilled in Jesus, we prepare our hearts to celebrate His birth and remember He will come again.
Why a Reading Plan for Advent?
- Waiting teaches us trust. It’s hard to wait, slow down and reflect during this busy Christmas season. But God has a message for us and calls us to slow down and listen for His voice. He uses this waiting time to teach us, refresh our spirits, and renew our faith and hope.
- Prophecy shows us God’s faithfulness. Christ fulfilled every promise about the coming Messiah. This strengthens our faith and erases any doubts.
- Reflection prepares our hearts. As we sit with these verses, we clear away distractions. We put His desires above the busyness of the holiday season.
- The Messiah has come! Christmas is the joyful celebration of the extravagant love of God that sent His Son to save us.
