Have you ever felt the need or desire to be rescued? As an encouragement for you to prayerfully consider joining and sharing this study, I want to give you some information and background on how I became involved in Living by Design.
Benefits of Bible Study
Maybe some of you are thinking, “Well, I’m already doing a Bible study”, or your work schedule is really crazy right now, or some other complication is keeping you from signing up. I encourage you to take 10-15 minutes each day to invest in a bit more time with God. I know He has something he desperately would love for you to hear through this study, and He’s just waiting to tell you!
He made us in His image- He wants us to know Him and reflect His character in our lives.
God’s Word is Truth
I remember a Bible study teacher long ago pleading with us to work on our weekly lesson each day for just 5 minutes. She told us that if we did that, after a few weeks, it would grow into a wonderful habit.
Did I take those words to heart? No… Unfortunately, there were many weeks I did my whole lesson the night before, and I know I was not alone. Why is it sometimes hard to commit to just a few more minutes each day to his Word??
There is no better way to guard your heart than to have his truth living there.
I know my little group of blog and social media followers are a tiny drop in a big pond. I was feeling like I wanted to reach more people for Him but was unsure of what else I could do. Then I saw a notification on Facebook one day to be a part of a launch team for a free, online bible study. This sounded like something I could do, and even if only a few people saw my posts and signed up, that was ok. The author of the study, Sarah, said we each have a part to play in his Kingdom work, no matter how big or small. While I would be on vacation for the actual “launch” week, Sarah still encouraged me to join her team.
Living by Design Ministries
The study is called “Living by Design Ministries’ RescYoued Bible Study” and it takes you on a journey through Scripture to illuminate God’s great rescue plan. Sarah uses the many different names for God to give us unique insight into His character.
Haven’t we all, at one time or another, felt the bondage of physical, emotional, or spiritual chains that weigh us down?
God Rescues
This study will point you to God’s loving and compassionate desire to rescue and restore you.
Sarah has crafted stories of twenty-two different biblical characters and explored how God rescued them, and in turn, can rescue you. I have read the stories of Noah, Moses, Ruth, David, etc before and know how God personally rescued each one of them. But as I read through this study, I realized He still rescues us from the same difficulties as these Bible characters: injustice, discrimination, shame, fear, grief, pride, and sin, just to name a few.
He is the same God today as He has always been.
His nature is unchanging, and his commitment to rescuing us from our own personal difficulties has never wavered.
One quote from the study really touched me: “It all points to God’s compassionate desire to rescue and restore his creation.”
That’s you and me.
Online Bible Study
All you need to complete this free, online Bible study is 15minutes per day and an email address!
You will receive a daily email with a brief Scripture reading and devotional. There are also additional resources and a “going deeper” guide in case you are you are tempted to linger a while longer over these powerful stories.

She said that it was sent at the perfect time in her life. And the very best part? My vacation during launch week is with my sister and we will start it together in person! I’m beyond excited!
